The Consulting Biochemist, LLC was created in 2014 by Byron DeLaBarre, PhD.

I have over 25 years in biotech and pharma, spanning roles of increasing responsibility up to Chief Technology Officer at Pin Therapeutics where I guided the creation of their world class protein degradation platform. Along the way, I have helped deliver multiple drugs to the clinic — including four that have achieved full FDA approval: Idhifa®, Tibsovo® (oncology), Mitapivat® (rare disease), and Zasocitinib® (plaque psoriasis).

Since 2015, I've worked independently as The Consulting Biochemist, partnering with biotech and pharma companies on structure-based drug discovery, ligand design, and most recently modern AI/ML-driven approaches to cheminformatics for hit ID, lead op, and target discovery.
